Dog Rehoming
Maxicare is an appeal launched by Animals in Need. We take stray and unwanted dogs from 'Death Row' and save them from destruction.
The dogs are kept until the right home comes along and no dog is ever destroyed, unless on veterinary advice. The kennels we use offer the best possible care for the dogs while they are with us.
Prior to a dog being adopted, a home visit is always made to prospective owners, and an appointment is essential before viewing the dogs. Because we are often unaware of the previous history of the dogs we never re-home them in families with children under the age of five. We do ask for a minimum donation for each dog adopted.
Following adoption by their new owners, a follow up visit is always carried out. Foster and Permanent homes are desperately needed for the many dogs always in our care - dogs that would have otherwise been destroyed.
